Welcome to the Unitarian place of worship in Hull

The church of the open mind
We do not stop thinking at the church door.

Welcome to the Hull Unitarians, a local religious community established in the city for over three hundred years.

Unitarianism is founded on a framework of liberal Christianity, which honours Jesus the man as a powerful example of integrity, courage and compassionate living. Many Unitarians see his work as central in symbolising the divinity and high potential inherent in everyone.

Twenty first century Unitarians believe that everyone has the right to seek truth and meaning for themselves and that we are all engaged in a life-quest to develop our own spirituality free from dogmas of fear and guilt. Unitarians use reason and honest doubt in the search for truth. In doing this we draw on the example and spiritual insights of the whole of humanity's faith traditions, traditions of critical and philosophical thought and reflect on the lessons of the natural world in an ever changing spiritual journey.

Everyone, of whatever faith or ethnic background, gender or sexual orientation is welcome to join us on our our spiritual exploration and can play a full part in all aspects of Unitarian life.

We meet every Sunday morning at 11.00am at our Park Street Church, (see our Services and Events page). You can be assured of a warm welcome!

Aspects of our form of worship, comprising readings, meditation and music, will be familiar to many. Please see our Worship page for more information or if you would like to talk to a member about our services. Explore the other sections of our site to get a better feel for Unitarianism.
